Commissioning and Testing

The success of any power project is attributable to the effective and Quality testing and commissioning of the entire project. It is because the time and cost factors have a significant role in these projects and the success relies upon the optimum utilization of the resources without causing any safety hazards. We at CME TEST LABS are committed to provide a strategically planned process for the testing and commissioning of the power projects without any delay or additional cost. To accomplish the task, we are equipped with test instruments having multifunctional capability like CPC 100 for complete switchyard testing and others which are best in accuracy class, reliability, repeatability.

Pre–Erection and Pre-Commissioning Test
We conduct series of qualitative offline and online tests for pre –erection and pre- commissioning as per IEC/IEEE and other international standards.As per Utility commissioning Manual, it includes all the latest test check the quality of Commissioning.

Diagnostic Testing

CME aims to be a Pioneer Power equipment testing Organisation in India for carrying out Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic testing of Power Equipments like Power Transformer, Generators, HT Motors, Bushings, Cables, CT, VT, CVT, Lightening Arrestor etc. Our teams of well trained engineers carry out tests and conclude the results in the form of detailed reports that lead to actions to be taken by the power utilities to increase the life of such Assets.

CBRM

Equipment is generally designed for a certain economic service life and is dependent on operating environmental stress, effective maintenance program and the quality during manufacturing including proper installation. After, this estimated service life period equipment is not expected to provide operational reliability. Worldwide Major work in HI is done in MV TF which is different from HV and EHV class transformer and here we have an edge or benefit over other consultant with respect to skill and experience.

RLA study of Switchyard Equipments

Today the concept has changed and efforts are being directed to explore new approaches/techniques of monitoring, diagnosis, life assessment and condition evaluation, and possibility of extending the life of assets such as Power transformer, Circuit breakers, CTs, Cables, Generator, Motors etc Our service team undertaken RLA (Residual Life Assessment) and RLE (Residual Life Extension) studies for entire sub-stations and MV Switchgears. We carry out testing of various types of test objects such as Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Isolators, CT/CVT, Motors etc using reliable and accurate test and measuring instruments

On line tests and Operational, design and historic information

This would be a review of all engineering design and operational documents, Past test data including regular scans with on-line test methods. New oil tests would be undertaken. This should identify the common problems and prioritize which offline test are more important in second phase for detail review Activities: External inspection, IR/UHF surveys, and oil tests for main tank and LTC including DGA and FURAN,
Checking of pump operation and fans.

Classification of Transformer and recommendation for future test

All units will be assessed in terms of design groups with problems, overall condition, thermal mechanical and dielectric condition. Assessment will be based on:

  • Operational problems and design group history
  • Oil condition of main tank and selectors
  • Thermal ageing and hot spots in winding and connection
  • Dielectric condition

Data checking and validation, VARH measurement, Display parameters, location of metering, metering data collection, metering data processing

Offline test on all units

Ocus on those that indicate risk from Sage 1. Undertake a range of outage tests to investigate issues, and correlate with assessment from stage 1. Activities: Off line tests- PF/Cap, Winding and insulation resistance, SFRA, Turns Ratio , Leakage Reactance,Bushing, surge arrester testing, OLTC operation and dynamic contact resistance measurement, Moisture analysis of paper insulation by dielectric method (PDC FDS)
